How it all started


Karen and I spent the summer of 2008 cruising Double Deuce thru Desolation Sound and up into the Octopus Islands. We have the better part of two months to accomplish this (not in a rush). We have always had one complaint with the boat that was the headroom. we sailed DD in many races including Swiftsures,Van Isle 360 and the Vic Maui in 2004. Over the last few years are focus has changed as we have found ourselves leaning more toward cruising than racing. So after a summer of cruising (banging my head) we decided the time has come for the next boat. The goal for this boat is to take us far once we retire. So we purchased the Landfall 48, I say we but in actual fact Karen never saw the boat until we already owned it. (and she still speaks to me) Words cannot describe the condition of this boat. Without a doubt the worst condition we had ever seen. The Bildges were a least an inch deep in sludge and ....
